CHARITY DONATION in memory of deceased Many people these days are requesting that in lieu of flowers, people contribute to a specific charity. Consider our parish as the requested charity, we send the donor a thank you card (& tax receipt), and we send the deceased’s family a sympathy card with the name of the donor on it. Doing this gives the parish much needed funds, and the family has the peace of understanding that the money which would have been spent on flowers is being put to better use in the name of their loved one. INTENTIONS Mass cards and Charity donation cards can be sent either by Catholic or non-Catholic friends. The offering of prayers is a valued expression of sympathy to a Catholic family. A card indicating that a Mass for the deceased has been arranged may be obtained from the pastor or parish office. The Charity donation card is also an indication of understanding, faith and compassion which offers a charitable tax receipt in lieu of flowers. |
