Marian Pilgrimage Days – Fatima Centenary Year

Centenary of Fatima
Marian Pilgrimage Days
Five Saturdays from June through October

Come participate in Marian Pilgrimage days in this the centenary year of the Fatima appearances of Our Lady. Each month we will fulfill the request of our Lady of Fatima to join with her in prayer, invoking blessings and graces for our families, Church and the world by gathering at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Waterdown.

In honour of this year’s special 100th anniversary, a plenary indulgence is available to those who attend and perform all the obligations attached to the indulgence. Each day begins with Mass, features a Marian Procession as the rosary is prayed, Stations of the Cross, and quiet time in the Marian garden. The program is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pack a lunch.

To obtain the plenary indulgence, the faithful must fulfil the following obligations:

  1. Go to confession and communion
  2. Be interiorly detached from sin
  3. Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father
  4. Visit with solemn devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory or proper place during the celebration of the anniversary of the Fatima apparitions, and participate devoutly in some celebration or prayer in honour of the Virgin Mary (e.g. the Rosary).
